Student FAQs

How much does the the program cost?

The class will be free for students! We don't want price to deter people from taking the class and setting themselves on a new career path. That being said, we do guarantee a job in tech recruiting after graduation, which means we will be selective with applicants to ensure we have manageable class sizes.

When is the first class?

The start date for the next class is February 5th, 2017.

Is the class online or in-person?

This is a 2-week, full-time boot camp that will be held in person. In the future, we may offer online courses, but for now, all of the classes will be held in person in San Francisco.

How can you guarantee a job after graduation?

Great question! We are working closely with a select group of hiring partners to fine tune the curriculum to ensure that you will be properly prepared for the job. After graduation, you have the choice of joining either one of our hiring partners or the team at RockIT Recruiting, recognized as the best tech recruiting agency in Silicon Valley.

What is a hiring partner?

Our hiring partners are companies that have agreed to interview our students after they graduate from TechRec Academy. It's an easy way to get connected with some of the hottest tech companies in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Will I be able to learn everything in 2 weeks?

Our classes are filled to the brim with content and we'll be learning at a blistering pace during the 2 weeks. That being said, we know that 2 weeks may not be enough to cover everything. Fear not! After you graduate, you will receive follow up training and mentorship from our alumni program to support you on your new career path!

How does TechRec Academy help me build my team?

Recruiting Leaders have told us that one of the biggest challenges they face is hiring Senior Technical Recruiters for their team, and that's exactly why we built TechRec Academy. TRA is designed to give experienced recruiters the technology and industry knowledge they need to excel as a Technical Recruiter at your company.

How can you possibly train Senior Technical Recruiters is 2 weeks?

 

Excellent question! It starts at the vetting process - the students we bring into this program are experienced recruiters that have demonstrated success in other industries and are looking to break into tech. Since these recruiters are already well-versed in recruiting, we spend the majority of the training focused on the skills needed to be great internal recruiters (working effectively with hiring managers, hiring for diverse teams, improving process through data, etc).

Will TRA graduates have the skills they need to do well as a Tech Recruiter?

We are working closely with a select group of hiring partners to fine tune the curriculum to ensure that graduates will be well-prepared for the job. That being said, we know that 2 weeks may not be enough to cover everything, which is why TRA graduates will receive additional training and support through our alumni program.
